I don't know how you manage to take these two characters who are basically just names to me and turn them into vivid living people with personalities -- Jensen with his responsible persona that hides an edgier (but no less caring) side, Jared with his almost puppyish yearning. There's this hazy hot feeling of summer and giddiness and youth throughout, and while it's unlikely they will ever be able to be together openly, there's still a glimmer of hope in the end, which fits so well with that feeling of youthful optimism. It's just very lovely.
