Nah the subject line has nothing to do with this post. I'm just putting into effect my new resolution of using poetry lines to break up the usual long line of "thoughts" "things" and "stuff" that make up my usual subject lines. Only it isn't poetry, just a quote.

I updated my mini [livejournal.com profile] spn_masquerade recs list so that they link back to the journals of people who claimed them, and in all cases it provided me with a chance to reread them. So many good things! I'm glad that I still have some things saved to read for my next bus journey, even if it does mean having to slink closer to a window and change the font size to small.

I meant to post my second masquerade fill tonight, but the lovely MissM is doing beta duty so that eyes will not be hurt by my failure to acknowledge commas as a legitimate art form. I regretted posting my first one (Love Tokens) yesterday because Monday is a rubbish day to post fic on, and I had to comfort myself with the knowledge that if this fic isn't American enough, it's not through lack of trying. This is how I now know how many self-service checkouts Walmart introduced in 2014.

Partially because of said fill I suspect, I dreamt about serial killers last night. Only half way through running away, I stopped, and came back to the house where they were, because I'd left my scarf behind. I know dreams aren't necessarily about being sensible, but a scarf? Then I started dreaming about my [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas assignment. I clearly need to stop fandoming before I go to bed.

New rule: Always ask what you're drinking before you drink it. I couldn't figure out why I was getting a little bit squiffy on a few pints of beer. So I asked what it was. "Ah," came the reply. "That's called An Brain Blásta. It's 7%." My reaction to that piece of information was a fairly hobbit reaction

Next round was a G&T and no looking back on the world of beer. Come to think of it, that probably contributed to the serial killer dreams as well. It also possibly gives legitimacy to the subject line I've chosen.

*chuckles* Your subject line reminded me of a song that my father used to play on a loop when I was growing up. No idea what it's called, but somewhere in it there's a line - "someone left the cake out in the rain".

Random reply, I know, apparently this was vital information, lol.

This is very vital information, you have found the song of my people!

The face like a melting cake crew.

Donna Summer did it too.

Hah this is brilliant! Thanks for tracking it down - the original quote was from Auden, I didn't realise they'd made music for it as well.

Hehe, subject line made me *giggles* There are days I actually feel like that ;)

That beer sounds like it could knock your brain out your head ;)

The beer did its absolute best to knock the brains out of my head (what little I have). I'm like 98% sure I hit on the hot bartender, because when he came off shift, he appeared and put his arm round me. I unfortunately was so drunk I waved him off and said "I'm listening to the band". This is why I'm gonna be single forever,

I love having serial killer and horror dreams, and I don't have them often enough! lol

Yes, always ask what you're drinking XD That sounds good though, I wish I drank so I could try some 7% beer.

Monday is a weird day for posting. I'm usually dumb and post on Saturdays or Sundays, lol, and I always remember that it's dumb about ten minnutes after I crosspost, then it's too late to take it back /o\ I will read your fic! Just... I'm not in a reading mood right now, and I don't want that to warp my opinion or enjoyment of it, ya know? There has been a general lower level of feedback on LJ lately too, so that may be contributing to the lower traffic you're getting.

Can we swap? I have horror dreams most nights, and would be happy to take some nice soothing ones.

7% beer (as far as I remember) tasted like old flannel. 6.6% was pretty nice though.

I do the same! And don't worry, this post wasn't a hint /o\ just me moaning about my own stupidity in various exciting ways. I was possibly more edgy with this one because it's new territory for me, but I never expect anyone to read my fic!
