Snowflake Challenge Day 5 (and mention of Day 4)

This is easily the most difficult challenge so far which is truly ridiculous really! But I just don't really visit many fannish places outside of heavily fic-oriented communities (even then mostly exchanges) and personal journals. So I was scouring my brain for ideas and coming up with absolutely nothing. A browse through my internet bookmarks however yielded the things below and I hope some of them are of some use. They're more resources than communities.

Mumsnet Chalet School threads It is the weirdest thing in the world that my favourite thing bar none in the tiny space that is Chalet School fandom is the continuing mumsnet threads about the books which I read even though I am (obviously) not a mum. They will make you laugh yourself senseless if you know the books at all, though it also takes picking through the site to find the most recent ones. I've linked one as a sample however. It's half roleplaying, half discussion and all pisstaking.


A weird little link I found the Internet Movie Firearm Database which will give you the answer to which guns your characters are carrying in different episodes etc


https://openlibrary.org/ - I use this website so much and it is a truly valuable resource for finding weird little books to read and plenty of research as well.


mcu_cosmic. I haven't had much of an opportunity to post here yet, but in the interests of getting some dreamwidth movement going, I recommend this community to anybody who likes the space side of the MCU!


Similarly to the above fffriday is a DW comm for femslash discussion/review on a Friday


The Circuit Archive is a long-going and ongoing part of my fannish experience - the biggest repository of The Professionals fic


Bonus exchange recs: Unfortunately this exchange has just finished so it is maybe not the perfect rec, but spn_j2_xmas is probably one of my favourite exchanges ever. I really like the format in particular and I am really hoping it continues to run. Spnspringfling is also a favourite and I always enjoy not_prime_time Plus - Sutcliff-Swap for all the books by Rosemary Sutcliff
